Botanical Description

Erect woody  herb , leaves alternate or small shrub up to 1-4m tall, with petiole forming a sheath around the stem  over most of its length, lamina ovate. Spike solitary,opposite, to the leaves, Flower  minute without perianth. Fruit a globular berry.

 

Medicinal Use

The leaves of p. capense are used in traditional medicine against sanies blebs.
