Botanical Description

Kalanchoe proliferais an erect Succulent, evergreen perennial growing from 50 -300 cm tall. The erect stems become more or less woody, especially at the base, but are little branched. The plant spreads by means of underground stolons to form clumps.

Medicinal Use

In traditional medicine, Kalanchoe species have been used to treat ailments such as an infection, rheumatism and inflammation. Kalanchoe extract also has immune suppressive effects.The leaves have antinflammatory, antiseptic, counter irritant, and sedative properyies. Fresh leaves are used as a poultice in the treatment of boils, wounds, burns and scalds. The plant are highly poisonous to humans and domestic animals, especially cattle, sheep  and goats.
