Botanical Description

Bushy shrubs which may become a latex  tree of 8 m tall. Green cylindric folked succulent branches. Leaves are seldom borne. Terminaal cymose glomerule inflorescence.

 

 

 

Medicinal Use

Latex is used in the production of tannins, insecticides, fish poison products.

 Latex and stems are the base of euphorbia tirucalli medicinal products; such as fortifying medicines, anthelmintic medicines, cough, bronchitis, chronic paludism medicines.

Young branches can be roasted and chewed, the juice acts as  a remedy for sore throat, and for stomach complaints. Boiled root juice acts as an emetic in cases of snake bite, and also for sterility in women.
