Bushy plant or shrub of 1.5-3.50 m tall. Pubescent, Squared stem and branches. The petioles of the leaves measure 2.5-3.5 cmm long. The leaf blade is oblong lanceolate, acute at the top leaf. It is pubescent, profoundly crenellate and measures 7-18 cm long and 2-6 cm wide .

The leaves of P. goetzenii are used I Rwandan traditional medicine  to treat hepatitis.
