Botanical Description

Malva verticillata also known as the Chinese mallow or cluster mallow, is an annual or biennial that grow up to 1.7 m in high. Stem is green to purplish hairy or hairless. Leaves  are usually round in outline, 3-23 cm long.4- 25 broad, heart shaped or flat at base, both surface hairy usually 5 lobed.

 

Medicinal Use

Malva verticillata  is used as a laxative to relieve constipation and as a diuretic to relieve water retention by increasing urine production. It is also used  to kidney disorders, and to stsrt the flow of breast milk.

The leaves are used as Vegetable.
