Herb or bushy plant of 1-3 m tall. Stems and branches diversely covered with an indumentum. Leaves of diverse shape, those typic are palmate compound, cordate at the base, roughly serrated, petiole of 19-20 cm long. Petiole of 10-20 cm long and wide. Terminal leaves are more small. Stems and petioles covered with a tomentum, leaf blade densely covered with starred hairs especially on the inferior face.

A root decoction is drunk for various types of abdominal problems.Pavonia urens has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial and antmicrobial activity.
