Botanical Description

A small deciduous tree, growing 6-8 m tall loosely rounded shape,  heart shaped leaves three veins from the base about 10 cm long coarselt thoothed, pointed apex lon stalk. Small greenish flowers in drooping like. Fruits are compound or multiple, suit and juicy.

IT is a Shrub to small tree  which can reach 20 m of height, fast growth during the  stade of young tree,  The leaves are petiolate, The leaf blade is oval- lancolate, acuminated t the apex, or profoundly trilobate.  The tree is used to grow silk worm.

Medicinal Use

It is used in the treatment of  urnary incontinence, dizziness, tinnitus, insomnia due to anaemia, neurasthenia, hypertension, diabetes, premature graying of hair  and constipation of the elderly. The root bark is antiasthimatic, antitussive, diuretic, expectorant, hypotensive and sedative.

In traditional Chinese medicine, the fruits is used to trea prematurely grey hair, to tonify the blood, and to treat constipation and diabetes. The bark is used to treat cough, wheezing edema and promote urination. It treats also cancer.

 

Other Use

 The juicy, sweet fruit is used to make jams and chutneys. The leaves  serves as  fodder and are eaten  by  silk worms. It is used also forconsolidating the field embankment (talus), Fodder for domestic animals, (sheep,Goat. Cow). Edible fruits.,
