Tree which can reach a height of 25 m . Globular coanopy. Brown reb bark in cross section. The leaves are simple, entire, and alternate. Petioles of 1cm long. Leaf blade is elliptic, acute at the base and at the end, and measures 8-20 cm long and 1.5 to 2.5 cm wide. Glabrous and brilliant on the superior face. Inflorescence in spikelike of 10-20 cm long and 1.5 -2.5 cm wide.
The bark is boiled in broath and taken as a tonic. Roots are boiled and liquid drunk for diarrhea and indigestion.
