Grevillea robusta

Botanical Description

A big tree  which can reach 35 m of height and 90 cm of diameter. The Canopy is elongated and less dense. Leaves covered with greyish hairs, alternate, seldom opposite profoundly divided. Gold orange Flower arranged in dense unilateral racemes.

Medicinal Use

Not known in Rwanda, but in Kenya, natives of Kakamega forest use the plant to treat sore throats, earache, chest problems, flu and toothache.

Other Use

Stabiliation of embankement, timber, planks for construction work. Melliferous flowers.
