Botanical Description
Shrub which is generally sarmentaceous, branches,, leaves and inflorescence more or less densely covered with hooked thorns, branches densely covered with russet hairs. Trifoliolate leaves with a cannelate pubescent petiole of 1-4 cm long. Inflorescence made up of glomerule of panicles.
Medicinal Use
The leaves and the branches are boiled and the ateam used as vapour both for nasal and bronchial pains. Fruits or their decocyion are taken for coughs and colds. Roots chewed and juice swallowed for coughs and stomach-ache. Roota sometimes cooked with soup ffor the same treaement. Juice from the roots is rubbed into the incisions around the wrists and ankles and some of it is taken orally at the same time as a remedy for paralysis caused by snake bite. The person must bite the same place where he was bitten by the snake. The medicine is a powerful emetic. Root decoction is mixed with milk and drunk for malaria. Plant also used as a rital medicine.
