Botanical Description
Cyphomandra betacea, commonly known as tomarillo or tree tomato is a smi woody, shallow-rooted, subtropical evergreen shrub with a treelike form that typically grows rapidly to 2-5 m tall. Larg fruit edible tomato-like fruit on plants clothed with large ovate green leaves. Large heart shaped ,, softly hairy, pinnately-veined, oval leaves 10-15 cm olong pointed to the apex.
Medicinal Use
Tamarillo fruits are very good for maintaining healthy eyesight. Vitamin A restores the moisture of the membranes of the eyes which act as a barrier to bacteria and viruses. It protects the eye from infections, and reduces the damage of eye disorders such as cataract and macular degeneration
