Botanical Description
Sufrutex often very ramificate, which can reach 1 m of height. Leaves with a lanceolate lamina emarginated at the apex, cunate base of 5 mm wide, entire margins.
Medicinal Use
The bark of Sida ovate is used as a remedy for wounds. The pounded or the powered bark is applied directly to the affected wound. According to Ayinkamiye Sarah, in Eastern Province of Rwanda Sida ovate is used in the treatment of urogenital infections, skin infections and stomach ailment.
Other Use
The entire plant is used as sweeping broom for local people.
