Bushy plant or erected robust herb that ccan reach 2.50 m high. The stem is ramificated, pubescent, to nearly glabrous. Persistant leaves with petioles of 0.2 -11 cm long, leaf blade rhombic – oval sometimes with inferior leaves trilobed. Yellow flowers or reddish yellow.
The leaves are used for the treatment of bums. They are crushed up with water and applied to the bums. Roots usd for the treatment of toothache, and for circumcision wounds. Heated roots used for headache. Ayinkamiye Sarah a tradipractician in Eastern Rwanda, Kirehe district said crushed leaves of Triumfetta rhomboidea are used in the treatment of uro-genitalinfections, skin infection and stomachaches. Infusion used for abscesses and yaws. Pounded leaves.
It produces fiber to make ropes.
