Botanical Description

The pawpaw tree is small tree, reaching about 5 m and generally produces only one unbranched, soft fibrous stem supporting a crown of large lobed leaves on longue petioles. The papaya are dioicus  and the flowers if female are formed in the axils of the leaves and formed the pendulous  fruits. The fruits are smaller than those of Carica papaya.

Medicinal Use

Papain production, The seeds cure stomach, and intestinal worms.

 

Other Use

Production of papain and pectin. The papaya fruit is nutritious.
